Older and younger patients are getting beauty procedures

OMAHA, Neb. —

When it comes to beauty products and procedures, the competition is widespread. So is the clientele.

" We see all types of people here. We have seen a huge growth in men. That's probably our biggest growth area," said Bobbie Vetock, clinic manager at Kohll's Preventative Medical Center.

Vetock also says they're seeing older clients, too.

The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery suggests the same thing.
It reports that over the last five years, the number of surgical and non-surgical procedures for men and women over the age of 65 increased by 89 percent.

Vetock says a lot of those patients are getting Botox.
It's a series of small injections designed to remove wrinkles by temporarily paralyzing facial muscles.

" It takes a little time and sometimes multiple treatments but you can erase years from your face," said Vetock.

Younger patients are also seeking Botox treatments as a way to prevent deep wrinkles as they age.
In the same report done by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, researchers found that the number of Botox treatments for those ages 19 to 34 increased by 41 percent from 2011 to 2015.

Kesha Mayer falls in that age group. She said she would rather spend money on a procedure than on products that she doesn't trust.

"You don't know what products are going to work, coming here you know you are going to get results and you get them fast" Mayer said.

Another popular treatment for faces across the country is fillers.

Michaela Collins is a physicians assistant at Kohll's Preventative Medical Clinic.
She has seen a huge increase in the number of people coming in to have their lips filled.
"You have some women who just want their lip back that they used to have when they were younger and then you have younger women who come in and say I want a Kardashian lip," said Collins.
