RANCHI: Twenty eight-year-old Arpita (name changed) recently underwent liposuction procedure to reduce fat from her stomach, before her wedding, which is scheduled to be held in the end of February.
Another 25-year-old girl, Sukriti (name changed) visited a cosmetic surgeon recently to rid her face of scar marks, so that she looks perfect on her wedding day.
Nowadays, going under the knife is the latest trend among the brides-to be of the city.
Plastic surgeon and CEO of Devkamal Hospital and Research Centre, Dr Anant Sinha said, "In the last two months we have performed over a dozen surgeries on brides-to-be. The most common procedures among these girls are scars and white patch reduction, rhinoplasty and liposuction. We also get some cases for breast implants and hair grafting on eyebrows."
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, commonly known as vampire facial, is one of the latest cosmetic procedure which is in demand among the future brides. "The procedure costs around Rs 25,000 and is conducted at least eight to 10 days before the wedding. It gives an instant glow to the face which remains for at least three weeks," Dr Sinha said.
One such woman, who did not want to be identified, said, "I recently underwent a surgery to reduce the under-eye bags as my daughter is to get married soon and I want to look good on her wedding day."
Removal of under-eye bags or blepharoplasty is one of the most common cosmetic surgery procedures among the elderly.
More and more people are getting attracted to cosmetic surgeries as the prices are quite affordable can can be easily adjusted in the wedding budget.
